Planting turnip greens
Ready your soil by raking and leveling.Make rows with edge of a board 4-5 inches (or less) apart.
You'll need turnip green seed or rape seed
Put your seed a bit thick, greens are not particular.
Close your row by hand
I like to firm the soil with a board to make good connect with the seed.
Water as needed according to the weather at time of planting.Your done!

Homegrown Strawberries
This is the first year growing strawberries and I'm quite happy with how they turned out.
Pictured below is some of my delicious homegrown strawberries.
How to sow carrot in Newfoundland
This is how I've been sowing carrots for years with good success.
Prepare the ground for the seed by raking lightly.
Make drills for the seed by pressing the edge of a board approx.1/4 of a inch deep.
With rows approx 8 to 10 inches apart.
This is the seed I use.
Sow plenty of seed and you can thin them out later.
Close in the drills and firm the soil as shown.
The next step is watering (I forgot to take a picture)Give the soil a good watering with a fine mist..but don't wash the seeds away.To get good germination keep the soil moist.Don't allow it to dry out.
