Old sawdust

Here I'm getting some old sawdust to add to my garden soil.

I've got a bag of sawdust on the bike and ready to go.

I just spread the sawdust around the rhubarb and work it in later.Notice the frost on the rhubarb this morning May 29 and we'll have more yet.

Another homemade garden tool.

I made a couple of these digging tools last year. They were made from leaf springs from an old car.I use this tool all the time in the garden, the combination  of light weight and narrow blade makes it easy to use. It's also a good way to reuse and recycle .

Flowers and summertime

The ultimate flower song ,peace friends and to those who are, happy gardening.

Still waiting for summer.

Saturday was sunny and warm so I gave my strawberry plants a dressing of compost and got to thinking about gardening again.

Today Monday this ,wet snow, that'll dampen your spirits just a little.

Bell pepper seedlings

Here's a little update  on my bell pepper plants, they're
doing great.I took them out of the egg carton where I started them and replanted them in yogurt tubs, they love it there.

I got a look at my strawberry plants today, old man winter is loosing his grip.

Testing bell pepper seeds.

My garden is still under snow outside so I'm doing a little planting inside. I saved these seeds from my bell peppers I grew last summer and now I'm going to test them to see if they were worth  the trouble or not.
I don't use egg cartons  for starting seed much, but some of my friends do so I'll give it a try. It's also a good  way to reuse and recycle in the garden.
I put 2 seeds in each section so that doubles my changes for success.
Everything goes in a plastic bag and I'll place it on a hot water heater and than we'll wait.
My bell pepper seeds are starting to sprout, it didn't take long but a few of them are poking through the ground.
