Root cellar pictures

Here's the remainder of my vegetables stored in the the mini cellar.I still have plenty of carrots,a fish box full, you can see some of them sticking out of the soil.
The last of my turnips ,this 8 lb'er will soon be moving from the cellar into the kitchen fridge.

My seed potatoes for next season.

They have nice eyes.

This is a good temp to store vegetables.

Thrifty gardener

I try to be thrifty in the garden when I can,so these 'eyes' were cut from a bag of  grocery potatoes that were sprouting. This is good way to get seed for next spring. I cut them a good 1/2 inch thick, then I'll keep them in the cellar at 0-5c for the next 5 months till planting time. The remaining potatoes we eat.
