Welcome to my winter garden lol..I wanted to see some "green" growing so I decided to do a little experimenting with seeds I saved from a grocery store cantaloupe.(Please read my two previous post on seed saving and germinating of the seeds) I'm quite pleased with how my plants are growing without using any fertilizer and very poor quality soil...You'll notice I'm always using yogurt tubs and egg cartons...I don't have to but I love to recycle and reuse stuff..The photo directly below is my initial planting of the germinated seeds. The other photos were taken a couple days ago..they're growing like weeds..lol

How to save cantaloupe seeds
Here's how I get my own cheap seed from cantaloupe we buy at the grocery store.Seeing I can't do any outdoor gardening I decided to do some experimenting with these seeds I saved. This is part one of three..will post the second and third part (germinating and planting) shortly
This is the piece of cantaloupe I'm taking the seeds from
Here I have the seeds and some pieces of fruit..next step they must be cleaned
The seeds have been cleaned through a strainer
Here I'm testing them to see which ones will sink and which ones will float
I skimmed off the ones that floated
Here are my finished seeds..I'll let them dry before storing
